No Shutdown, No Disruption | T-ALL Inspection Completes Efficient Vacuum System Leak Detection and Treatment for 16 China Coal Chemical Units

In the coal chemical industry, the stable and efficient operation of industrial drive steam turbines is a core support for ensuring the continuous operation of chemical production lines, energy conservation, and consumption reduction. As a key supporting system for such units, the air-cooled island vacuum system directly determines operating efficiency and power stability. In May 2026, T-ALL Inspection, relying on its strong professional expertise and service experience in the chemical industry, successfully completed the inspection and treatment of the air-cooled island vacuum systems of 16 industrial drive steam turbines at China Coal Ordos Tuke Chemical, providing a new practical reference for the operation and maintenance of similar units.

As a large-scale modern coal chemical enterprise, China Coal Ordos relies on these 16 industrial drive steam turbines to provide power for core units such as air separation compressors and process compressors, making them a key guarantee for the continuous production of the industrial park. Recently, fluctuations in the vacuum tightness indicators of the units affected power efficiency and increased energy consumption, urgently requiring a professional team to carry out accurate leak detection and treatment to restore the tightness of the vacuum system.

This project covered the air-cooled island vacuum systems of 16 units. The system boundaries included modules such as air-cooled radiators and exhaust steam devices, with potential leak points widely distributed and difficult to investigate. In addition, the work had to be carried out online under continuous production conditions in a chemical plant. It was necessary to ensure detection accuracy while complying with the park’s safety regulations and avoiding any interference with production, placing extremely high demands on the team’s technical and management capabilities.

The leak testing team of T-ALL Inspection adopted the helium mass spectrometry method for the operation. By applying tracer gas online, the team scanned key areas such as welds and flanges point by point, accurately locating micron-level small leak points. During the operation, the team strictly implemented the industrial park’s work permit system, carried out safety protection measures, and advanced the inspection and treatment of the 16 units in batches. Different treatment methods were adopted for different leak points to ensure long-term and stable results. Throughout the entire process, the operating parameters of the units remained stable, and production was not affected.

After continuous operation, the team completed the inspection and treatment of all 16 units, identifying and repairing more than 50 leakage risks in total. After re-inspection under the supervision of the client, the vacuum tightness indicators of all units met the qualified limits specified by DL/T standards. The treatment objectives were successfully achieved, effectively improving unit operating efficiency and helping the client reduce production energy consumption.

This is another successful practice by T-ALL Inspection in the field of chemical steam turbine vacuum system treatment. Relying on mature technical solutions, the team completed large-scale equipment risk elimination while ensuring that the client’s production was not affected. This also further verified the team’s comprehensive service capabilities in such complex scenarios.
