Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Cathodic Protection Specialist with a valid NACE CP4 certification to join our project team at the West Qurna 2 Oilfield in Basra.The successful candidate will be responsible for leading cathodic protection projects for large storage tanks, cross-country pipelines, and related facilities, ensuring long-term asset integrity in challenging environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the full lifecycle of cathodic protection projects for large tanks, pipelines, and associated facilities, including design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

2. Develop and implement inspection and monitoring programs, including potential surveys, coating inspections, and data analysis, in compliance with international and project-specific standards.

3. Troubleshoot and optimize cathodic protection systems to maintain operational reliability.

4. Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation, inspection reports, and construction plans.

5. Provide technical training and mentorship to local personnel to enhance team capability and safety awareness.

6. Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers for technical coordination and project delivery.

 

Qualifications

1. Valid NACE CP4 (Cathodic Protection Specialist) certification or equivalent internationally recognized qualification.

2. Minimum 10 years of professional experience in cathodic protection, with proven track record on major oil and gas projects.

3. In-depth expertise in CP system design, installation, and maintenance for large storage tanks and long-distance pipelines.

4. Strong knowledge of international CP standards (e.g., NACE, ISO) and inspection methodologies.

5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

6. Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal forms.
