According to the introduction of Tarim Oilfield, the oil and gas production equivalent of the oilfield will reach 30.8 million tons in 2020, and a large oil and gas field with an annual output of 30 million tons will be built in the western border area. In 2021, the oil and gas production equivalent of the oilfield will reach 30 million tons earlier than the previous year, further strengthening Xinjiang's position as a large oil and gas production, processing and reserve base and a strategic channel for onshore oil and gas, and playing an important role as a strategic replacement area for oil and gas production.

Tarim Basin is the largest oil and gas bearing basin in China, and the ultra-deep oil and gas resources in the basin account for more than 60% of the total onshore ultra-deep oil and gas resources in China. In the face of extreme challenges such as ultra-deep, ultra-high temperature and ultra-high pressure, 32 large and medium-sized oil and gas fields have been identified in the basin in the past 30 years, contributing 440 million tons of oil and gas production to the country and creating huge economic and social benefits.

In recent years, vigorously promote the tarim oilfield exploration and development efforts, and break through the traditional petroleum geology, oil and gas accumulation, engineering technology, efficient exploration of three "dying", to the deep into the earth, supporting form 8000 meters with deep ten drilling and well completion technology, realize the deep complex reservoirs "want to get to see enough, get enough, and it is concluded that", the number of super deep well drilling in domestic more than 80%, It has built China's largest ultra-deep oil and gas production base.
