At 9:55 am on June 28th,
With an order from the chief dispatcher,
The export ESD valve of the Wushi 23-5 offshore platform
And the inbound ESD valve of the Wushi onshore terminal were slowly opened, Marking the successful commissioning of the Wushi project,
whose EPC general contracting was formed by a consortium consisting of Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd. and Dagang Oil Construction.
Located in Leizhou Wushi Port-vicinity Industrial Park, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, the Wushi Project is a vital component of the CNOOC Wushi Oilfield Development Project. It serves as a crucial infrastructure for transporting marine oil and gas from the South China Sea's Beibu Gulf to the Leizhou Peninsula, thereby providing continuous, stable, and environmentally friendly energy to the western Guangdong region. Being the first oilfield land terminal project undertaken by Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd., and marking the company's debut in the CNOOC South China Sea oilfield market, this project holds significant symbolic value.
The project boasts an annual production capacity of 1.4 million tons of crude oil, 28,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and 50,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG). It is the company's maiden endeavor encompassing detailed design for all process packages in oil and gas field processing. Divided into storage and transportation areas and processing units, it comprises 14 units, including crude oil tanks, LPG tanks, LNG tanks, crude oil stabilization, natural gas sweetening, dehydration and demercurization, light hydrocarbon recovery, natural gas liquefaction, and produced water treatment. The primary facilities inaugurated this time focus on crude oil processing, storage, and transportation.
Commencing in February 2023, the project spanned 530 days, encompassing design, procurement, and construction, posing significant challenges due to its tight schedule and demanding tasks. Facing adversity such as scorching summers and frequent rainfall, over a thousand constructors worked tirelessly around the clock to expedite project progress. Professional departments within the company dispatched their best and brightest, with designers forgoing holidays around the 2024 Spring Festival to work diligently for 90 days, completing a total of 1,208 design documents to meet the site's drawing requirements. Meanwhile, technical service personnel consistently worked on-site, promptly addressing issues and proposing solutions.
Currently, the main body of the Wushi Project has been successfully inspected and accepted. Designers continue to serve at the forefront of construction, ensuring prompt resolution of any subsequent issues. They also maintain close communication with the construction units to facilitate seamless integration between construction and design, contributing to the project's triumphant conclusion.
